After a year of planning, the HMCC's BIG SHOW occurred 9/14 and 9/15/96!
Houston Mopar Show and Race

We battled the elements and remnants of a Pacific hurricane. The Saturday "Mopar vs. the World" race and "Mopar-only car show" went smoothly. On Sunday we had a couple of hours rain delay in early afternoon, but we managed to finish the racing and present the trophy awards Details about the show and race are below. The race and show took place at Houston Raceway Park, Baytown, Texas.
It was sponsored by the HMCC and show proceeds will benefit a local charity.

This award is presented in honor of Don "Mr. Mopar" Waits. Don was a well-known and loved Mopar parts vendor in Texas and the Southwest U.S. Don passed away in 1996 and the Mopar community mourns his loss.
This year was the first year of what will be an annual award presented to a member of the HMCC. Club members vote to determine the club member who has contributed the most to the club over the past year.
Club President Jean Baxter graciously accepted this year's award as Don's widow and family looked on during the show's Sunday award ceremony.
